New from Roberto Coin...
Among the new Coin ring creatures to debut at Baselworld were a turtle, frog, elephant, rabbit, fish, panther, polar bear and iguana (below). This reptilian ring is black gold with brown diamonds, orange sapphires and natural green garnet.

Each year, Coin also crafts a number of limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces. This year, as a nod to the “Year the Dragon” in Chinese astrology--a year said to be marked by luck as well as unpredictability--he created limited edition dragon bracelets and dragon rings. The pair pictured below is crafted in peach and white gold with diamonds, rubies and enamel.

In a fitting tribute to her Diamond Jubilee, the dazzling collection charts the Queen’s love affair with the precious gemstone – from her 21st birthday to the present day.

They include the exquisite diamonds of her coronation at the tender age of 27, which were worn to complement the enormous Imperial State Crown.

Also on display will be the jewels given to her on her 21st birthday as well as the crown she refers to as ‘Granny’s tiara’, having been a wedding present from her grandmother in 1947 (image above). Along with the Williamson Brooch the features a rare 23.6 carat pink diamond, said to be the finest in existence! (image below)

In November this stunning Sun-Drop - pear shaped diamond ring will be available at Sotheby's Geneva during their Magnificent Jewels auction. The diamond is 110.3 carats and has been graded Fancy Vivid Yellow, the highest color grading for a yellow diamond.

The rough for the Sun-Drop diamond was discovered in South Africa in 2010 and was cut and polished by Cora International, one of the world's leading manufacturers of exceptional diamonds, with headquarters in New York.

One of Sotheby's most impressive diamonds this Sun-Drop is expected to go for $11-15 million.

Once again the stars walked the red carpet at this Sunday's 63rd Emmy Awards and though red seemed to be the "hot" color for gowns, big & bold was the theme for the jewelry.

Gwyneth Peltrow wore a black, lacey, mid-drift baring Pucci dress which she complimented with platinum earrings by Neil Lane that boasted 7 carats of black-and-white diamonds.

Five months after giving birth, Jane Krakowski dazzled in a silver lamé J. Mendel gown and large dangling ruby earrings.

Kate Winslet made a "red hot" appearance in a body hugging red gown that she topped off with diamond encrusted Cartier teardrop earrings.

Sofia Vergara stunned the crowds in a coral off the shoulder Vera Wang gown paired with a pair diamond earrings featuring emeralds from her home country Columbia. "Everything that comes from Colombia is huge," said Vergara, she was talking about jewelry.
